You Say Goodbye and I Say Hello... - 09 October 2007 at 11:30
Pennine Brass would like to officially welcome Matthew Hindle to the band on second E flat bass and to two new 3rd cornet additions, Dave Maxfield and Alice Nowicki.

Matthew joins from Rochdale Youth Band where he has played solo E flat bass for many years. He was a pupil at Wardle High Schoool until recently, where he was a member of the Wardle High School Youth Band under the direction of Lee Rigg.

Matthew replaces Adam Harris who has been a long-standing, dedicated member of Pennine Brass since he began his studies at Huddersfield University in 2000. Adam has decided to leave the band due to new work commitments.

Alice joins Pennine Brass from the Dobcross Youth Band where she played principal cornet. She has recently begun her studies in music at Green Head College in Huddersfield.

Alice replaces Graham Batley who is a life-member of Pennine Brass. Graham was a founder member of the band who decided to step down from the band due to work and family commitments.

Joining Alice on the 3rd cornet bench is Dave Maxfield. Dave previously played with the Meltham and Meltham Mills Band and brings the ability to outblow his entire row!

Sadly, the band loses 2nd trombone, secretary and founder member Bruce Jones. It goes without saying that the band will miss his endless hard work and dedication to Pennine Brass.

The band would like to extend its thanks to all players who have decided to leave the band. They have each been committed and dedicated members of the band and all fought from the beginning to make Pennine Brass a successful, well-known and well-respected name in brass banding.
